Setting up Mozilla Thunderbird to send and receive your Fibersphere.net e-mail
Step 1

Launch Mozilla Thunderbird and go to Tools > Account Settings

Step 2

In the Account Settings menu, click the Add Account button, and choose Mail from the flyout menu. This will begin the Internet Connection Wizard to setup Outlook Express for use with your Fibersphere.net e-mail account.

Step 3

In the New Account Setup dialog, select the E-mail account radio button, and click Next.

Step 4

In the Identity dialog, perform the following:

- In the Your Name: field, type in your name.

- In the E-mail Address: field, type in your full Fibersphere.net e-mail address.

- Click Next.

Step 5

In the Server Information dialog, perform the following:

- Select IMAP for the type of incoming server you are using.

- In the Incoming Server: field, type mail.fibersphere.net

- Check the Use Global Inbox (store mail in Local Folders) check box.

- In the Outgoing Server: field, type mail.fibersphere.net

- Click Next.

Step 6

In the User Names dialog, type your entire Fibersphere.net e-mail address in both Incoming User Name: and Outgoing User Name: fields, and click Next.

In the User Names dialog, type your entire Fibersphere.net e-mail address in both Incoming User Name: and Outgoing User Name: fields, and click Next.

In the User Names dialog, type your entire Fibersphere.net e-mail address in both Incoming User Name: and Outgoing User Name: fields, and click Next.

Step 7

In the Account Name dialog, type an identifying name for your Fibersphere.net e-mail account, and click Next.

Step 8

In the Congratulations dialog, verify that your information is correct, and click Finish. This will close the Account Wizard.

Step 9

(Highly Recommended) In the Account Settings window, click on Server Settings, located below your e-mail address on the left navigation pane. Change the Port to 993, and select SSL under the Security Settings section.

Step 10

Click on Outgoing Server (SMTP) on the left navigation pane. Verify that the Server Name field shows mail.Fibersphere.net, and that the User Name field shows your entire Fibersphere.net e-mail address. Click OK to finish.

Step 11

(Highly Recommended) As an alternative to the settings applied in the SMTP Server window in previous step, use the following settings to send your e-mail more securely:

- Change the Port to 465.

- Use name and password box is Checked.

- The User Name field: your entire Fibersphere.net e-mail address.

- Set Use secure connection section to SSL.

Click OK when finished, then click OK on the Account Settings window.

Step 12

In Mozilla Thunderbird’s Folders pane, click the plus sign (+) next to Local Folders to expand the list, and click Inbox. To test the new account, and to check for new e-mail, click the Get Mail button, located in the Mail Toolbar in the upper left of the window. You are now ready to send and receive e-mail from your Fibersphere.net e-mail account using Mozilla Thunderbird.
